The Sign of the Cross
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Spirit. Amen.
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy
kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us
not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
The Hail Mary
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed
are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb,
Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now
and at the hour of our death. Amen.
The Doxology
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever.
Amen.
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the father almighty, creator of heaven
and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our
Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and
born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the
dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come
again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the
Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of
saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the
body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of
heaven and earth of all that is seen and unseen. We believe
in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally
begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in Being
with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us
men and our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power
of the Holy Spirit he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became
man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day he
rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures; he ascended
into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead, and
his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father
and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped
and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe
in one holy
catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism
for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection
of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you, and
I detest all my sins, because of Your just punishments,
but most of all because they offend You, my God, who are
all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve,
with the help of
Your grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion
of sin.
Guardian Angel Prayer
Angel of God, My Guardian Dear to whom God's love commits
me here. Ever this day be at my side to light and guard
and rule and guide. Amen.
Grace Before Meals
Bless us, O Lord, and these thy gifts which we are about
to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Family Prayer
God made us a family. We need one another. We love one another.
We forgive one another. We work together. We play together.
We worship together. Together we use God's word. Together
we grow in Christ. Together we love all people. Together
we serve our God. Together we hope for heaven. These are
our hopes and ideals.
Help us to attain them, O God, through Jesus Christ our
Lord.
Peace Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace; where there is
hatred, let me sow love;
when there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy. Grant that I may not so
much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood,
as to understand, to be loved as to love; for it is in giving
that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Serenity Prayer
God, grant me the courage to change the things I can change,
the serenity to accept those I cannot change, and the wisdom
to know the difference. But God, grant me the
courage not to give up on what I think is right, even though
I think it is hopeless.
Come Holy Spirit (Traditional Catholic
Prayer)
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the Hearts of Your faithful and
kindle in us the Fire of Your love. Send forth Your Spirit
and we shall be recreated --And You will renew the face
of the earth, (Ps 104:30). Let us pray: O God, Who did instruct
the hearts of Your faithful people by the Light of Your
Holy Spirit, grant that by the same Spirit we may be truly
wise and ever rejoice in His consolation. We ask this through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer Before a Crucifix
Behold, O Kind and most sweet Jesus, before Thy face I humbly
kneel, and with the most fervent desire of soul, I pray
and beseech Thee to impress upon my heart lively sentiments
of faith, hope and charity, true contrition for my sins
and a firm purpose of amendment. With deep affection and
grief of soul, I ponder within myself, mentally contemplating
Thy five wounds, having before my eyes the words which David
the Prophet spoke concerning Thee: "They have pierced
my hands and my feet, they have numbered all my bones."
Memorare
Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary, that never was it known
that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help,
or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by
this confidence we fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, our
Mother! To you we come, before you we stand, sinful and
sorrowful. O Mother of the Word incarnate, despise not our
petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer us. Amen.
Morning Offering
O Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You
all my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day,
for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with
the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in
reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all our associates,
and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father.
Amen.
ANIMA CHRISTI: (Soul
of Christ, of St. Ignatious of Loyola Specially after Communion)
Soul of Christ, make me holy. Body of Christ, save me. Blood
of Christ, fill me with love.
Water from Christ's side, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen
me. Good Jesus, hear me. Within your wounds, hide me. Never
let me be parted from you. From the evil enemy, protect
me. At the hour of my death, call me. And tell me to come
to you. That with your saints I may praise you. Through
all eternity. Amen.
Prayer to the Holy Family
Dear Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
Please bless all of our family. Give us, and our loved ones
the gift of forgiveness, the desire to love one another
with an unselfish love, the ability to delight in each other
and see the good qualities that you have given to us, and
a deep faith in Our Lord as the heart of our family.
Dear Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, draw us ever
closer to you. Protect us and help us to cherish one another
with that same love that was part of your family. We ask
you this through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
