Newcomers
Committee
The Newcomers Committee welcomes new parishioners to
St. Michael.
Committee members also offer information about various ministries
and encourages them to get involved. In addition, we provide
general information about the parish or provide them with
the appropriate phone numbers of who they can call to get
more information.
We would love for you to become involved in the Newcomers
Committee. It’s a great way to get to know new people!
Currently we welcome 20-30 new families into the parish
per month.
Members of the committee volunteer for either phone calls
or to sign up new members after masses.
REGISTRATION FORM
... May be filled out and returned to the Parish Office
or to a newcomer committee member available after the weekend
Masses.
how you can get involved in welcoming
new parishioners
Phone calls: Typically 4-5 families are called about 6 times
times per year. It’s just a simple phone call welcoming
them to the parish and asking if they have any questions.
Sign up new parishioners after Mass: Get your doughnut
first! Leave Mass a little early to be available after Mass
to personally welcome new members. Members of the committee
are available with registration forms to register new members.
They are then given a new member packet. Time commitment
is currently 1 mass per month. For example current volunteers
register for the 1st Sunday of the month the 8:30am mass.
Usually by the time coffee and donuts are done we are also
done. Our goal is to have enough committee members so 2
people are available after all masses. We hope to have all
members register in person instead of by mail.
